Still Alive

Well, the dangerous lure of video games has pulled me out of the world of poker again. I'm just tired right now. All the studying, all the videos, and all the effort spent on putting together enough free time together for play poker has burned me out. Work has also been a lot busier which always negatively impacts my desire to play poker. Sometimes I need a little break from "thinking" and "reality": video games do that for me.

I always feel a little sad and guilty when I stop updating Klopzi's Mediocre Poker on a regular basis. Over the past few years, I've posted roughly 800 posts. And a surprising number of those posts have been readable and informative. That's probably why I hate posting simple filler on this site. I tend to turn to advertising posts in an effort to keep new content flooding this site but I guess I could try to post other amusing content.

In some ways, I feel that I should apologize to my readers for not posting more often. I put myself out there as a poker player trying his hardest to break into table stakes and games that matter. Yet I keep falling short of my sometimes-lofty goals. Maybe I'm too old to give poker a real shot. Maybe the state of online poker is no longer agreeable to up-and-coming poker players looking to make a name for themselves. Maybe my lifestyle of family and comfort does not mesh well with making an earnest attempt to generate solid income from what is for most simple a game or hobby to be enjoyed on weekends with friends.

Where do I go from here? If you've been a regular reader of this blog, you'll know that I always return to poker after a certain hiatus period. And with poker comes more posts. I can't tell you when that will happen. Right now, I'm all about my PS3, my Xbox 360, and work.

I'll keep you posted if anything changes.

Have a good one!
